Ingredients for Matar Paneer:

    serves 4


  - 8 oz - 225g paneer cheese, cut into cubes

  - 400g green Peas

  - 1½ cups water

  - 2 large onion

  - 2 tbsp Ghee

  - 1½ tbsp heavy cream (malai)

  - 1 tsp Coriander

  - 1 tsp Red Chilli powder lal mirch)

  - 1 tsp cumin seeds ( jeera)

  - ¼ tsp Turmeric powder (haldi)

  - 1 inch ginger

  - 1 tablespoon coriander powder

  - ½ teaspoon garam masala powder or punjabi garam masala powder

  - salt to taste

 


 

 







How to make Matar Paneer:


Heat sufficient ghee in a kadai and deep-fry till light brown. Drain onto an absorbent paper.

Heat two tablespoons ghee in a non-stick pan and add chopped onions and ginger.

Sauté till lightly browned.

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and peas and cook, adding a little water, till the peas are tender and a little gravy remains.


Serve hot with chappatis.
