Ingredients for Nasi Goreng:
- 400 gr - 14 oz rice
- 300 gr - 10 oz chicken (or ham, diced)
- 100 g - 3½ oz shrimps
- 2 carrots (chopped)
- 1 leek (chopped)
- 1/4 Chinese cabbage (chopped)
- 100 gr - 4 oz bean sprouts
- 2 large onions (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (chopped)
- 2 eggs
- Peanut oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sambal
- Salt and pepper
How to make Nasi Goreng:
Boil the rice, using the instructions on the packet.
Heat some oil in a pan (wok) and fry the onions and garlic, until the onions turn yellow.
Add the meat and fry briefly.
Add the carrots and leeks and sauté until they are al dente.
Add the Chinese cabbage and bean sprouts and stir fry for a bit longer until they are al dente.
Add the rice and mix well, evenly until the rice and vegetables.
Stir in the soy sauce and sambal by the nasi, and finally the shrimp.
Season with salt.
Beat the eggs, season to taste with salt and bake a thin omelette.
Roll the omelet and cut into strips.
Garnish the nasi goreng with strips of omelette.
