Ingredients for Pork Chops with Mushroom Sauce:
- 4 thick cut pork chops
- 12 oz - 330g sliced mushrooms
- 3 large shallots thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp chopped chives
- 2 cloves finely minced garlic
- ½ cup brandy (not necessary)
- 1 cup - ¼l cream
- 1 cup - ¼l chicken stock or water with 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- Salt and pepper
How to make Pork Chops with Mushroom Sauce:
Salt and pepper pork chops.
Heat oil in large skillet and fry pork chops at medium high heat for about 5-7 minutes per side.
Remove pork chops from skillet, transfer to baking dish and keep warm in oven while you prepare sauce.
Add sliced mushrooms to skillet and cooked until golden brown. (if needed add a bit more oil skillet)
When mushrooms are almost done add shallots and garlic and cook for additional few minutes.
Add brandy to deglaze skillet. ( if you like)
Stir in heavy cream and cook until sauce has thickened slightly.
Gradually add chicken stock until sauce gets to desired consistency.
Season with salt and pepper.
Add pork chops back to skillet.
Garnish with chopped chives
Serve with rice, mashed potatoes potatoes, french fries,...
