Ingredients for Banana Pepper Poppers:
for 4 persons:
- 4 large banana peppers
- 1 cup - 60g whipped cream cheese with chives
- 4 slices uncooked bacon
- 6 large jalapeno slices from jar, chopped
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 3 tablespoons chopped basil leaves
How to make Banana Pepper Poppers:
Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
Leave the stems on the peppers. Wash and slit banana peppers carefully, and gently remove seeds and membrane.
Slit the top side lengthwise.
Place the prepared peppers in the boiling water and set the timer for 5 minutes. Remove the peppers from the boiling water and drain them on paper towels.
Combine the creamed cheese and chives, minced garlic, chopped basil, and chopped jalapeno peppers. Mix well.
Stuff the peppers with the cream cheese filling.
Wrap the stuffed peppers with the bacon. Preheat oven to 356°F - 180°C.
Line a baking sheet with tin foil and spray with olive oil.
Place the peppers on the foil-lined baking pan.
Bake in the oven until bacon is nicely brown.
Sprinkle fresh cracked black pepper on the poppers after they are done.
Enjoy!
